ABOUT
We will get you to the Mountain.
The Kootenay Gateway was born from a love of the Kootenays. Back in 2002 Natasha and Ian the founders came back to Red. Both had visited before and had a history with the town and ski resort.
During this time Natasha became frustrated at the lack of female inspiration in the media. The pro-female riders were portrayed as pretty chicks standing with their gear. Natasha figured that if they were worthy of the magazines they were worthy of showing us their skills on the snow!
The idea of BettyGoHard Women's Action Sports Community was born. Natasha wanted to create a place where females could be inspired by others, celebrate who they are, and be an inspiration to others.
Natasha and Ian moved to Canada from New Zealand during this time to pursue their love of the Kootenays, the mountains, snow, and dirt. Being given the gift of many Kootenay experiences only the locals know about they wanted to share the magic of winter and the joy of summer with all that find their way to this magical place.
The BettyGoHard community grew into Kootenay Mountain Biking; focusing on inspiring and empowering women as well as challenging the youth bikers to push their limits and build confidence.
Expanding the Mountain Bike community was the birth of Mountain Shuttle; an opportunity to get more bikers to more trails. Assist visitors to the area get to their destination. Help weddings be magical and Christmas parties safe.
Afterschool bike programs in Rossland include and the kids have an expectation of the shuttle at the end of the trail.
Never sitting still Natasha identified that in order to truly help riders get to their potential, building and maintaining strength was imperative. Adding to the list of ways to help get people to reach their potential 'Get Real Coaching' was created with bootcamp programs for athletes to enhance their performance.
To bring it all together and create a full experience Kootenay Gateway is the face of all the brands. With an office on the Rossland main street; you can book your shuttles, tours, and other services whilst shopping for a local artesian souvenir to take home with you.
